2020

What can you say.....

2020 was a quiet year!

The band were invited back in January 2020 by Re-engage (formerly Contact the Elderly) at their post Christmas, Christmas Party at Manor Hill House and then .... Nothing. COVID caused all performances to be cancelled, and like all other bands, we couldnt rehearse or play anywhere.

However, it did give us the opportunity to try something new... recording virtual videos, so in 20 different houses, on 20 different phones, we all recorded our parts and videod ourselves, and emailed them to Chris our conductor. With the wonders of technology he put all these together, and throughout the year, we recorded 4 videos.

2019

A busy year....

After the success of the bands first concerts in 2018, 2019 was a busy year.

The band supported local charities to raise money, including playing at Hogarth's Stone Manor Hotels Big Band Afternoon Tea event in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice and at Bodenham Arboretum where we performed for a lively packed house in support of Take Heart, the Wyre Forest Heart Support Group

The band also entertained community groups, and played in the beautiful setting of Manor Hill House for Contact the Elderly Redditch & Bromsgroves' Late Summer Lunch Party who provide events for rural and isolated elderly people (and there was even an impromptu audience choir singing 'We'll meet again') and att the Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham at their 'Tea with a Twist' free event for local communities playing once again to a full house.

In addition to those, the band performed in Jubilee Gardens, Bewdley for the annual Cherry Fair/1940's weekend which is always a popular event, and well supported and following on from the success of our 'home' concert last year, another one was held, which sold out, with even more audience, and more dancing.

The band also decided to do a recording session, recording four of our favourite tracks at Load Street Studios in Bewdley which was a new experience for all, and very successful. Many thanks to Load Street Studios for making us sound so good!!

2018

Our first year.....

Our very first public gig was at a glorious garden party at Winterdyne House, Bewdley in aid of Cure Leukemia with over 100 people attending. We then followed this up by helping Sanders Park in Bromsgrove celebrate its 50th Birthday, which was a great community event.

We ended the year hosting our own concert, and were overwhelmed that so many people came out to support us at our first 'at home' gig, and not only came to watch, but dance as well.
