 2022

Nice to be normal...

After the events of the last 2 years, it was nice to be 'back to normal' in 2022. We started with a bit of change, as our conductor had to leave for health reasons, so we were delighted to welcome our bass player, Chris Cobon as our new conductor.

We once again play at Bewdleys 1940s weekend, which, as always, was very well supported, and we even had Robert Plant in the audience, so of course, couldnt resist getting a band photo with him!

We were invited to play at Beoley Village Hall, near Redditch, as part of their monthly live music Jazz club. It was a new venue for the Band, and a bit of a challenge for a couple of our satnavs (!) but again, we had a smashing audience, and a most enjoyable evening playing for them.

Whilst life was back to normal for us in the UK, war broke out in Ukraine, and we performed at fund raising concert at St Ambrose Hall in Kidderminster to support the people of Ukraine. The event was excellently supported, and the band greatly enjoyed the evening and wish they were as lucky with lottery numbers, as they were with their raffle tickets!! Overall the concert raised over £1000 for 'Aid to the Church in Need Ukraine Appeal' so was a very successful event.

We once again hosted our own concert,  and once again had to increase our venue size, playing at Stourport Manor Hotel, where we could also have a dance floor. Our concert again sold out, and our mix of classic big band music, along with some rock and roll and other classics, certainly filled the dance floor! It was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all.
